Launced at 7:15 or thereabouts. It's only a few minutes to my starting spot, even with a 20 hp. Same 3/4 oz black jig I had tied on from yesterday at Mudge. Missed a fish on my first cast. Very subtle hit in deep water, and while I was trying to figure out whether it was a hit or not, I felt the fish blow out the jig. That's a mistake I wouldn't make again today. After that, every hit came in the boat.
All of the fish came on 5/8 to 1 oz black jigs. Most were with a black plastic chunk trailer, but a few were with a brown plastic chunk trailer. Most came between 20 and 30 feet deep, but one was much deeper (40+), one was pretty much on the bank in 5 to 8 feet of water, and one was in a patch of weeds in 10 to 12 feet.
All in all, I caught 12 bass. 2 of them were smaller fish (pound and a quarter size) that I didn't bother taking photos of. Sorry about the quality of the photos, but it's tought when you're alone. Started out holding just the camera at arm's length (first couple photos) then switched to propping it up on the cooler and using the timer. Had a family obligation this afternoon, so I had to get off the water by noon (OK, I stretched it a hair, but I left right after catching that last fish at 12:05).
