Pay attention on the water!

Last Sunday was but the latest in a long line of instances where paying attention to the cues and clues the fish and mother nature are constantly offering us resulted in a payoff of the big fish kind. We saw activity — a school of some kind of small fish (perhaps they were sunfish or bluegill, perhaps perch or golden shiners, what difference does it make — they were potential food for a big bass) broke the surface within a long cast of where we were working the break from a shallow flat into deep water    View the entire post — Pay attention on the water!

Clockwork green

I have been waiting for this all year, just like every year.

“THIS” is the aggregation of largemouth bass on deep, rocky drop-offs after the lake I live next to — Lake Zoar — is done turning over in the fall. It’s like clock work. By the time it gets down to 42-43 degrees, it’s lock & load time.    View the entire post — Clockwork green
