Rick Clunn, of Conroe, TX is one of the superstars of competitive bass
fishing. He is commonly regarded as the sport's most intuitive angler,
and tries at every turn, to reduce himself – or is it actually a matter
of elevating himself? – to a more primitive state, in tune with the
pulse of the natural world. His approach is more a matter of immersing
himself in the aquatic ecosystem than than trying to "think like a fish".
The bass he's after is just a cog in the overall ecosystem, and through
understanding of that environment, the answers to various fishing situations
are merely exercises in logic and intuition.
